Buccarumbi Bridge campground is a basic free campground located at Old Glenn Innes Rd and right at the Nymboida river. It is a great spot for swimming, fishing as well as (long-distance) kayaking. It is family friendly with plenty of space for kids to run around and swim.

Campground details:

Although it is suitable for all types of camping, there are only a limited amount of flat areas. In addition, you will not find much shade. However, you can set up camp next to the river and flushing toilets are available. And best if all, it is all free.

Highlights of Buccarumbi Bridge Campground:

  • Swim, fish and kayak in the Nymboida river
  • Do some long distance kayaking to one of the other campsites along the Nymboida river. The first part is normal flat water, though you will encounter more serious rapids further on. Prepare yourself for the route and be aware of your own capabilities. See for more information the waterways guide.
  • Some other close by free campgrounds can be found at Boyd River. These have no facilities but are well located for nearby 4WD tracks (some require crossing the Nymboida River)
